When you love abstract paintings, but you also love the blue herons ... A collector and I were kicking around multiple commission ideas. One possibility was to make her an abstract companion set, but she wondered if I could possibly stick a blue heron in there somewhere? She was only half joking! Alas, she went a different direction, but a year or so later, I remembered her question and felt up to a challenge. I wanted to see if I could throw a blue heron into an abstract painting, especially since I had never painted a blue heron before.
